I am trying to re-install the Linksys Wireless G notebook adapter WPC54GS on
a laptop running Win98. I uninstalled the adapter because I couldn't get the
configuration correct - it would not talk to the router connected to the
desktop machine running WinXP. When I attempt to re-install, I get an error
msg saying it is already installed. I have looked for the files and deleted
everything I know of belonging to the WPC54GS. I have not gone into the
registry because I believe the msgs saying "stay out if you don't know what
you're doing".

I have to get over this hurdle before I can try again to get the
configuration correct. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Un-install the network adapter software in Control Panel | Add/Remove
Programs. Then, un-install the network adapter in Control Panel |
Network if it's still there.
