Default PCI Multimedia Audia Device - driver

Well, according to the specs for that machine, the audio device is an
"Intel® 82801 AC '97 PCI Audio". However, EMachines is so cheap that they
don't provide any drivers downloads at all, let alone for an OS other than
that with which the machine shipped.

It's *possible* that Win98 or 98SE might come with those drivers . I don't
have a 98 installation handy at the moment to check. For that same reason, I
also can't give you step-by-step instructions for seeing if they are already
available from the Windows installation files (which are on your machine, I
hope?) Something about letting you choose from a list of drivers, rather
than automatically locating them. Then again, if it can't locate them
automatically, they *probably* aren't there (I can think of a few reasons
why they might not be found even if they're there, but we won't go into that
now.)

Otherwise, you'll have to get it from Intel. Strangely enough (VERY
strangely!) Intel servers seem to be down at the moment. That or my ISP's
DNS server is messed up. In any case, I can't get there to locate the
drivers for you right now. I'll try again later. If you can get there and
you can locate the download, great. Let me know, OK? Otherwise I'll keep
trying.

Hmmmm... You might also want to use Everest to identify your hardware more
accurately, in order to see if more updated drivers are available. Even for
things so basic as the motherboard (which the EMachine specs *don't*
identify.) Get a free copy of Everest he
