No a NIC ( Network Interface Card )does not help the Modem, it is =
either an alternative to it or a complete replacement. It is used to =
network computers or as a replacement to dialup when using cable.
No need to get rid of either, if for some reason the phone line goes =
dead you have the NIC to rely on if it is configured to use for the web =
or visa versa for the Modem if the NIC goes wayward.

You have a NIC installed, why even bother with a Modem Booster?

OK, I should have done this before bothering this group ... I found a =

cool
website (http://answersthatwork.com/) that explains almost everything =

that
was on my list. I removed 6 from my startup:

loadqm.exe
NvMcTray.dll
taskmon.exe
TeaTimer.exe
OSA9.exe
DRWATSON.EXE

I could remove the Resource Meter because it takes up resources also, =

but
I've gotten to where I keep an eye on it to see if I need to reboot.

We'll see if removing these improves my performance.

I still would like to know if there is some other tweaking I could =

do.

Thanks,
Debbie
