and sadly, perhaps they are losing sight of their original customers too,
judging by the take-up of (retail) Vista. Not particularly brilliant,
according to press reports. My PC magazines seem to be sniffing around Linux
and other OS's as a credible alternatives more recently.

centre following the release of v5.7 of the scripting engine. This
appears to me to be yet another short-sighted action by Microsoft whereby
the force users to upgrade to 5.7 and just tough luck for those with

copy of scr56en.exe, I'm glad you've got the issue sorted out. Odd
that MS appear to have pulled it - but it seems that they are
gradually pulling Win9x and other early stuff from their download
(support?) site. Sign of the times!
