Default Need ME driver for USB external HDrive

Why didn't you mention this earlier? When you inserted the drive what was
the message? I suspect that it asked you to insert your Win Me CD and
that you don't have this to hand.

With the drive connected open the Device Manager and delete all yellow
banged entries. Close the Device Manager, remove the drive and reboot.
Now locate the folder containing the file BASE2.CAB, by default this is
normally either C:\Windows\Options\Install or C:\Windows\Options\Cabs but
some OEMs place it elsewhere on the system. Now connect the usb drive and
when it asks you for a file and to insert the Win Me CD, instead browse to
the folder that contains BASE2.CAB. The installer should now find the
necessary files to correctly configure your usb connection.

I bought a WD MyBook USB external hard drive and it did not plug and
play. It installed but I did not have the right driver for it. Wd
support is giving me every answer but the right one. I downloaded
their Win98 driver which is working ?? but I would like to know if
there is a Win ME driver available.
