Forget going to the control panel and simply, install the CD..... assuming
you've not disabled it, the CD will auto-run. From there's, it's simply a
case of clicking a few options.

An old laptop with Win95 I upgraded with Win98 Second
Edition "Upgrade" CD.
However, when I next try to update Win98 with my Win98
Second Edition "Updates" CD, I do the following:
1) Insert CD
2) Click "Add/Remove Software"
3) Click "Have Disk" on "Windows Setup" tab in Add/Remove
Software Properties" pop-up
4) But then I get "install from disk" and "copy
manufacturer's files from A:/"
PROBLEM at this point: the Win98SE Updates CD is in the
E:/ drive NOT the A:/
So QUESTION: How do I get the hard drive's Win98SE updated
by the files on the CD?
Also, are there any Win98SE updates on the MS website that
should be downloaded AFTER I get the CD Update taken care
of?
Thanx.
