Interesting stuff, as I have a 2Mb connection, what's the maximum download
speed I should expect? it's currently approx. 230KBs.

Thanks.

I've got 1461 kbps download speed now; instead of 765 kbps with a

My upload speed is only 375 kbps.
Are there any unusual hacks to bring that speed way up too?

From your article headers:

NNTP-Posting-Host: 66.66.252.81

From Sam Spade:

07/17/05 02:08:22 dns 66.66.252.81
nslookup 66.66.252.81
Canonical name: cpe-66-66-252-81.rochester.res.rr.com
Addresses:
66.66.252.81

What is your HSI account plan? Road Runner is advertising a 5,000kbps
download plan, so your 1,461kbps seems a tad shy of your potential maximum.
I don't see an upload speed mentioned, but yours seems in the ballpark for
a standard 384kbps plan.

BTW, Road Runner is claiming to be 3x faster than DSL. As usual, though,
the cable company is using last year's DSL speeds for this year's
comparisons. For half the price of 5-6Mbps down DSL will give you half the
speed; but often with twice the up speed.
