Does the warranty start when those
people buy it? This just doesn't sound right.

I thought that most HDD manufacturers give only 12 months warranty these
days, with their 'mass market' products. Fortunately, HDD prices are much

problem and more
importantly that Maxtor have given you an RTM number.
I've only ever had to
send one back to them and got excellent service. Their
reputation is still
sound!

I just installed ME on a formatted hard drive.
Everything is working good except it takes a
long
time
to
boot up. It gets to the windows screen and
just
sits
there. The only thing on screen is a green
background
and the hourglass mouse pointer. The red
light
is
flashing so it is doing SOMETHING, but I
don't
know
why
it is taking so long. It takes about 1-2
mintues
of

sitting there before the windows screen
finally
comes
up
with all the icons and whatever.
