Default Installing IE 6.0 without an active internet connection

I'm using an old IBM Thinkpad, and I just bought a wireless card to allow me
to connect to my home network and the internet. When I try to install the
necessary software for this card (from CD) it tells me that I need to have
IE 5.5 or higher installed on my machine. I do not have an active connection
to the internet on this laptop, because it does not have an ethernet port,
and I don't have dialup. Is there a way (besides paying the $5 for shipping
for an install CD) that I can install IE without an active internet
connection on the computer I'm trying to install to? This is complicated
additionally by the fact that my primary home computer is a Mac.

Any help is appreciated,
