Default Bios problem

I have a HP Pavillion 612 running win 98 SE that in an attempt to remove a
program interrupting the sound card, I believe I deleted the monitor driver.
On startup I get one long followed by two short beeps. The hard drive and CD
ROM spin, I get two more short beeps and the monitor shuts down. Therefore, I
never see any information. I have researched these beep codes and read posts
describing securing the video card cables/connections, but I have a chipset
that I did actually assure is snug to the motherboard. This generated no
change. Does anyone have an idea as to a next step?

That beep code on an Award BIOS indicates a "display card or monitor connected
error".

Check your monitor connection to your PC.
Go into the BIOS and see if you can find out where the you can select the video
or monitor, probably in something like PCI Plug and Play section.
What was the program you were removing and how did you go about it?
