Default DXDIAG single error reported.

'RegClean'?? - v1.whatever?? - in that case you should be shot for not
keeping up with developments! g
Seriously - RegClean was OK when ME came out, and has never been updated
since (for very good reasons!) - and as such is not to be entrusted with the
ME registry any more. There are too many developments in the interface that
this once-useful tool just cannot cope with (although I wish it was
otherwise!)

Hello Noel,

I did. It does apply to ME.

The first link led me he
http://www.techweb.com/winmag/column...in/2001/03.htm and I modified
the
Default value of the created Key (ProgID) to read "Game Controllers CPL
Handler" and dxdiag was happy - so am I. Briilliant, Noel. Now I just need
to know what I have been missing since it was deleted.... vbg BTW, I,
too,
had used RegClean (briefly) in the last 12 months.

Ben - you may want to have a look at this thread.
The discussion is about Win98SE, but the same should apply in ME (back up
the registry first, of course!)

Hello,

A routine check revealed this:

-------------------
DirectInput Devices
-------------------
Device Name: Mouse
Attached: 1
Controller ID: n/a
Vendor/Product ID: n/a
FF Driver: n/a

Device Name: Keyboard
Attached: 1
Controller ID: n/a
Vendor/Product ID: n/a
FF Driver: n/a

Poll w/ Interrupt: Yes
Registry: Errors found
Key 'HKCR\CLSID\{92187326-72B4-11d0-A1AC-0000F8026977}\ProgID' is

missing.

How may I replace this Key?

Thanks.

Ben.
