samsung 242MP
The video adapter supports 1920 by 1200 60Hz. I am thinking I may have to
use the DVI interface.

The native resolution of the monitor is irrelevant if your video display
adapter doesn't support it. The only valid modes are the ones that your
video adapter knows about.
If your video display adapter should be able to support a 1920x1200 mode,
then perhaps you aren't running the correct drivers for it. Try getting
the
newest version of the display adapter drivers.

I have a Samsung 242MP monitor. When I set the display mode to 1920 by
1200
60Hz It says I have an invalid display mode and the video card reverts
to
1600 by 1200. 1920 by 1200 60Hz is supposed to be the native resolutio
of
the monitor.
