True but, relatively speaking, the hardware is inexpensive and makes
an improvement, whereas more MS software doesn't.

Windows ME has to work - that's the design goal.


Perhaps you should have considered this before making your purchases
although why anyone should wish to install Win Me on a new system is a bit
of a puzzle. If XP is too expensive then consider installing Ubuntu.

Wife is happy with her present computer just wants it to boot in a
reasonable time and work a little faster. My older ECS mobo works
like a champ so I guess I'll track down one of those.

I'm happy with her present computer because it works well and she's
immune to malware with it.

Knopix rules. Ubuntu?
