Seriously though, we need a little more information to diagnose
anything......
Reboot to Safe Mode
Open Device Manager there - what does it have to say about the CD-ROM ??
If there's more than one entry for it, remove ALL instances, and reboot to
Normal Mode - Windows will reinstall required drivers
While there, check for error-flagged entries, and Remove ALL of them if any
exist - reboot....
