probably the easiest and least expensive way is to buy and
install a cheap second hard drive, load the OS you want
and edit the boot.ini file to let you choose which drive
to boot from each time you start.

First, have you tried compatibility mode to run the
programs? Right click
the shortcut (in some cases the actual execute file),
properties,
compatibility tab.
Second, I use Virtual PC within WinXP so that I can
easily call up W98 when
I need refreshing on directions I am giving. My personal
experience with
VPC is that my old hardware (printer and scanner for
which there are no XP
drivers) will not run in VPC. I had to create another
primary partition and
load W98 to it.
Finally, the safest way to load two systems to the same
hard drive is to get
a boot manager/partitioning program so that each system
can have its own
partition to run from. I use:
BootIt Next Generation is available from:
http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/
and it does partitioning, makes a compressed image, does
many other
partitioning chores and is a boot manager. It is not
quite as easy to use
as Partition Magic but it is half the cost and has more
features. Unlike
the crippled PMagic demo, BING is a *full function* demo
you can try for
FREE for 30 days. The web site has a lot of support
articles.

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to load 2 operating
systems on to one computer? We still need 98 for
certain
programs that have not been updated from other
organizations but all our new computers are upgraded to
XP.Our director suggested we could load both operating
systems to one computer.
Thanks!
