Default Windows Hotmail / Live does not load

This is actually for my parents. They have an older gateway running 98 and
dial-up (I nod my head every time I visit). They get to the inbox. When
they click a message hotmail acts like it wants to display but nothing
happens.

I verified this by logging into my hotmail account with the same response.
I know my account works because I had accessed it just the day before.

My parents commented that the change happened only about 2 to 3 weeks ago.

a back door via http;//my.msn.com worked up to today to get to my account on
my lovely 8 year old laptop running 98 sE but I seem to be completely up the
creek now. Having been advised that I need to upgrade my browserI carried on
anyway (in spite of the warning that it might not work properly). Guess what?
It doesn't work properly. I can see the headers of the emails but can't open
a single one.
I haven't bought a new peice of hard or software for seven years. I wonder
why microsoft don't seem to want to help me?

Yea, I started having that problem a few months ago.

Actually, I tried it just now - and it works.

Strange.

What I did to get around the problem was to go he

http://www.msn.com/

And then click on the hotmail link near the upper left corner.

That does not work for me... Help! Stuck in Windows 98=Land and unable to
access my Hotmail account!
