Default monitor or ME problem

Actually, it sounds like you need to adjust BOTH the Windows display settings and
the monitor settings, as described in all the other replies.
I would set the Windows display settings to something like 800x600, 24-bit, and set
the Refresh rate to Optimal; then adjust the screen using the controls on the front
of the monitor.
