An HP Pavilion 6630 that I just salvaged (from the side of the road)
has a working version of Windows 98 on it. From a command prompt, VER
results in 4.10.2222.

How can I tell whether this is Windows 98, ME or SE?

Not positive on the last 4, but the first 3 are correct,
and the last 4 came from the same source.
I'd have to dig out all my OS disks to make sure.

You can always do a directory listing of the Windows
directory, and look at the file dates to help double-check......
