Default windows can not detect camera

I tried to get picture from my digital camera Olympus C4000.
I had done that before without any problem but now, my computer can not
detect the camera at USB connection.
The difference between now and then is I have reinstalled Window and I have
two CD drive now at D and E.
I was going to manually letting computer know there is camera connected. I
went to control panel and opened scanners and camera file then tried to add
device. Then I got an error message like this.

Set up could not finish opening a file on the source disk.
Source file: D:autorun\Windows\fnfilter.dll
Destination file: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\fnfilter.dll=DRIVER5.CAB

It asked me to put Windows ME CD but CD does not have such file.
Olympus manual says no driver needed for Windows Me.

Is it just because CD drive is taking up space?
Do I have to remove older CD drive in order to use camera?
Any advice please?
