Default Repair Reinstall

Mike,

Thanks, I understand what they said. I assume it's worth a try, because
otherwise I'll have to reinstall Windows and every other program and
application anyhow.

Scandisc in Safe Mode. Don't use a 3rd party defrag. If you have an
Intel chip, there's works better than anything else.
