Default Antivirus for win98se

Glad to hear about the fires.
Got a son living in the Petrified Forest outside of Calistoga and they're on
high alert.

I'll find the programs I need. Would have been easier to just throw in disk.

Already d/l winzip.

No big fires yet this year, but I had to evacuate last year due to the
smoke from the Moonlight Fire. It was about 30 to 40 miles away but the
smoke was impossible for me on some days.

As for legacy apps, I got tons, g. But you can probably find them out
there on the net *without* having to give in to the "click here, now click
here, now...." BS, or sign up for anything.

Of course, it helps to know the filename. like AdbeRdr60_enu_full.exe. Or
you search on "acroread 6.1" (without quotes) or "Acrobat Reader 6.1"
(with or without quotes). You'll also want a copy of WinZip 8.1, not sure
what else.

I'm going to see if I can run down the tech and find out.
I wish now I would have held on to my old win98se disks that had 98
programs on, i.e. Adobe Reader, etc.
None of the newer version run on 98....

Have a great one,

L.

Ps You anywhere near the fires out there?

OK, well have fun with it, s. Still wish I knew how the tech fixed the
system so that it would get past BIOS.

Avast! has a free Home Edition. You have to re-register for the free
one each year, but that's the only nag.

Thanks.
Thought I'd better get an AV program on here before I screw this
system up.

For AV, get Avast!. I don't generally run firewalls, so I'll keep my
mouth shut on that one.

Have a laptop finally running and need an AV program. (See Invalid
Hibernation partition/file???)
Running AVG on all other systems(XP) but 98se can't handle 7.5 or
8.0...
Would also like to load a firewall program, currenly running ZA on
other systems also.

Any suggestions please,
