A look at "c:\windows\Active Setup Log.txt" on the problem computer
might be helpful.

Thanks, Ben.

I downloaded the fresh copy of IE6SETUP.EXE and copied it to the =

ailing=20
computer. When I attempted to execute it, I experienced the same =

result - it=20
doesn't run. =20
=20
I should also mention that when booting into Windows 98 (using =

WINFILE.EXE),=20
just before bringing up the log on dialogue, it reverts back to a =

colored DOS=20
screen issued by Symantec AntiVirus Auto-Protect - "Unable to =

determine the=20
location of the configuration files.". If ENTER is pressed ("OK" in=20
dialogue), Windows continues to the network log in dialogue.

Thanks for all your help.

Hi -
=20
I was reviewing this post since I'm having a similar problem. =

IE6Setup.Exe,=20
however, will not launch. If I try to run the repair function =

from the "RUN"=20
dialog, I get a dialogue saying that Internet Explorer cannot be =

repaired.
=20
Any additional ideas would be appreciated.
