Default How do I repair IE in Win98SE 4.10.2222A?

I don't use IE for that reason. I keep as much of it disabled as
possible, with nearly all the stuff in "internet options" set to
"disabled". I only use the Windows Explorer part of IE. I'm not sure if
I'm using the right term, but there are different buttons used when I
double-click on "my computer", "my documents", an item on the desktop,
etc than when I goto a web site or launch IEXPLORE.EXE.

Anyways, are you saying that I should just download & install IE 6 even
though I don't use it and don't need it just to repair the busted
Windows explorer? There is NOTHING about Internet Explorer or repairing
anything in Add/Remove programs, I checked.

Control Panel-Add/Remove has the Repair option for IE6. I don't recall
if there was a Repair in IE5 but I strongly suggest you upgrade that
ancient version of IE for better security.

I should note that my OEM Windows CD with the proper drivers and other
stuff that came with the computer is damaged and unusable. I have
another Windows 98CD available that I copied from a friend, but I don't
think it's the same version of Win98SE. I haven't really checked it out
however.

Internet Explorer reports as being version "5.00.2614.3500"
The System Control Panel reports that I'm using
Microsoft Windows 98
Second Edition
