Default Desktop fails at boot W86se

Well - I spent a fair part of the weekend building up from a clean boot,
'narrowed' the problem to somewhere in the start up files.

Frustration really set in when I found that there was some inconsistency
with System Check, Pointer, and SBOELoader. OK with first two, but add
SBOE... and desktop crash returns. However unticking SBOE.... does not
cure, and it is not untill I untick the other two that boot will complete.
And even further, the System Configuration Utility screen would freeze, and
I was not able to get to reboot from there on occasion.

So - as my drive is getting a bit crowded, and the price of 120gb drives is
not so bad now, I'm going to take the 'chicken' route, cure will be new
drive and reinstall.

Thanks for help, but my head is getting a bit sore from this brick wall.

Cheers
Ian F

It is a process, first doing a clean boot, then slowly re-enabling items

till the
problem returns....but it is the best way to narrow it down. Post back

when you get
near the cause.
