This sounds as if it may well be an overlay problem due, as you have
already said, to the age of your video card or possibly the drivers for
the card. Have you ever been able to play DVDs on the second screen?
What software are you using to play DVDs? Have you tried using a
different application to play DVDs, even if only for testing purposes?
