See this site: http://aumha.org/

You should always disable any boot-sector virus protection
in the BIOS before you reinstall Windows 95/98.

See this page on the BIOS if you don't know what it is:

Hi. My daughter is having problems with her Win 98 laptop
and we want to completely reinstall 98. The problems have
been progressive - it now wont boot up, but she has a
copy of all files, so we can start completely from
scratch. Is there anywhere that I can get detailed
instructions on how to do this? We have the Win98 SE CD
and Ive been told that it should boot from that but I
know from past experience that these things dont always
go smoothly. Im presuming that using the CD would give me
the option to reinstall 98 but Id really like to reformat
the drive and start all over again. Are there any good
sources of info on this? Thanks, Noel
