Default Computer Hell

To any friendly individual out there I am in Computer Hell
and some how the heat is just getting turned up by the
minute.

I read an article about spyware and thought it would be a
good idea to protect my computer. I paid for and
downloaded software Spyblocs v2.0 and Pal Spyware v1 from
eBloc. I scanned my computer and two files that required
quaranteening were found. I hit the quaranteen button but
nothing happened. I went to their website and left a
message to help me. In the meantime my computer swould
not shut down. So I had to do it manually (i.e.power
button). When I rebooted a brief prompt appeared to say
if I wanted to exit press'del' which I did. It then siad
did I want to save setting Y/N, well since I hadn't
changed any settings (I don't believe) I pressed 'N'. I
cannot remeber what happened next but doscovered the
shutdown had been disabled so now every time I have to
shut down manually. After switching the machine back on I
received help from the eBloc sight giving me an activation
key number which I entered. I then activated the spyware
scan and noticed this was about three times slower at
searching than before. I went to their help site and it
suggested that I download windows updates, some it said I
would have to do seperately from the main download. The
prompt said 17 critical download updates plus other
updates. SO I started with this one. When I returned I
found the computer rebooting up again (presumeably it had
switched itself off). It then continued the
download/installation with a message to the effect that it
was incomplete. I guess the computer carried on where it
left off. When complete it asked me to switch off the
computer. I did this manually due to the problem already
described. When I returned to the Microsoft download site
to continue downloading other files it first said it was
checking my system, then said that 17 critical updates
were required, the same as before. I am now in computer
hell. I have noticed that as I have tired to access help
and opened windows on the net the computer is very very
slow. If someone can help me please reply. This is the
fist time I have used a chat room (is that what I am in)?
Below is a key marked send, but to whom and how will I
find out a reply as I have not been prompted to give my e-
mail address. Oh god I hate this, shoot me....
