As far as I've observed that behavior is normal for any USB port...

Why not just color code the ports rather than go through the reinstall
software routine?

I am not questioning whether it is normal or not. I wanted to know if
I could use one port for more than one device. And if so will I need
to install the driver each time I switch devices for that device. And
or if I reorder the devices to the ports do I need to uninstall the
current driver before installing the new one?



I know that you do not have to uninstall any drivers as I've been there
myself.

Not sure about the rest...as I now try to keep the same devices on the same
ports
