Default Removing Adware Corrupted the Protocol Stack

I removed a host of adware from an ME system and now when
the browser tries to access a site on the Internet it
can't resolve the address. The address in the address bar
re-displays as corrupted, such as:
http://www.yahoo.com
becomes:
http://?%20www.yahoo.com
And the page states that it can't find the site.

I tried Ping and it gives the same problem.

I reinstalled the operating system, on top of the existing
one, and it did not correct the issue. I would rather not
do a fresh installation to avoid reinstalling all of the
other software.

The Internet was working before removing the Adware.

How can I determine what may be causing this, and thus
figure out how to solve it?
