As I recall (I used dialup about 8 or 9 years ago), I used a download
product and I frequently ended up with corrupt files. I know nothing about
FreshDownload so I cannot recommend for or against. I frequently download
AVG via cable modem and I have never ended up with a corrupt file. But, it
only takes a few minutes to download versus a few hours via dialup.

The file you end up with after the download is corrupt; hence, the not
valid
message. Get a friend with a fast connection to download AVG for you
and
transfer it to your computer via CD, memory stick or what have you.

Thanks, Ron, for responding. Will do.
Is file corruption just something that happens when you download in
several sessions, or d'you suppose FreshDownload is just no good?
