Once I gain some confidence, I will do just what you suggest, put the lost
part back into existence, right where
it belongs. I might need some help in doing that.
If I would send a note pad copy of the current partition status, it would
give you an idea of what I am dealing with.
Until then we're going to take it easy, lying low.

I didn't know that you had PM8. You can use PM8 to convert the file
system on a partition if you need to do so again. PM8 maps out what's
on the HD, so you should be able to identify where the HD space is
currently allocated, and then determine what you want to do with it.
