Default windows 98 floppy disk version

"DanT" wrote in message ...
no, i have a start up disk. What I need is the FLOPPY DISK VERSION OF WINDOWS
98 instead. My BIOS settings do not allow for the booting of CDs.
I already have the CD version of Windows 98.
Is there any way to download the OS onto FLOPPY DISKS or can i use my CD
version to transfer it to FLOPPY DISKS?

My Laptop only allows for the use of one drive at a time, and since windows
won't boot because it's corrupt and won't boot CD's on startup I have to use
my FLOPPY DRIVE.

Go to http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm and create a Windows 95
version B boot floppy. This uses DOS version 7, which is usually sufficient
for Windows 98 setup. Start the laptop with the floppy and type the
following five lines. Then shut down, remove the floppy drive, install
the CD drive and restart. Please note that the CD drive will probably
be assigned drive letter "R:". Also, you may want to save copies of
the existing "c:\autoexec.bat" and "c:\config.sys" files.

copy /y a:\mscdex.exe c:\
copy /y a:\autoexec.bat c:\
copy /y a:\config.sys c:\
copy /y a:\cd?.sys c:\
sys c:
