As previously posted I have had shutdown problems with WIN98 SE.

Since replacing my HD it has gone from very rare to quite often.

It only seems to happen after I've been online for ages but not with
non-Internet use.

I have checked out the MS trouble-shooting page on Shutdown issues but no
improvement - even installed their patch.

But still the same.

Something of interest is that when it finishes NOT shutting down there is a
horizontal green stripe at the top of the screen made up of vertical lines.
I can remember getting this years ago on an entirely different system under
WIN95.

Any ideas as to what this is and what it means?
