Still doesn't change my suspicions of a failing HDD though g

As I think I may have said in my earlier post, I agree with you 100% here.
I only mentioned the KB as being a possible reason for the rather odd
scandisk error message.

And that was updated 2 years ago!! Things soon become obsolete in
