No, I did not (and neither did my friend - he merely upgraded from Win98

to
WinME with someone else's help) install WinME at all. The OS (and all

other
of his applications) was already on a friend's hard drive when I gave him

a
newer (newer than his) computer (which did auto-shut-down). His old

computer
( had a neck-snapping 233 MHz CPU and older than year 2000) probably did

not
even have automatic shut-down capability, so any files that governed
auto-shut-down remained on the hard drive.

Do you install Win ME with Params "install.exe /p j ???
This parameters active the ACPI Mode for energy manager.....(this

necesary
for shutdown automatically) in Releases of BIOS after 2000 year..
