Dang! You've described the problem I'm having to a Tee. Doesn't shut down
properly, Ctrl-Alt-Delete doesn't respond, screen goes black with no "It is
safe to shut down..." and all kinds of difficulty getting the computer
running again. I'm beginning to think this patch was a serious mistake.
