Default DVD player installation with Windows 98SE

Go to the DELL support site and search for drivers for your model laptop.

Windows 98SE will support the DVD drive as a CD-ROM. To get extra
functionality you will need the correct drivers for the device. If you have
diagnostic software that identifies the make and model of the DVD drive, you
may be able to get drivers from the manufacturer's www site.

I bought a used Dell laptop with Windows 98 SE installed. Somehow the DVD
player stopped working and the DVD player and all such software is
missing. I
tried to install the Windows 98 DVD player but got an error message that
said
something to the effect You cannot use a Windows 98 CD on Windows 98 SE.
The
CD is now disabled! Is it disabled? How can I get my DVD player to
install?
Can I uninstall the SE part and then use it or is there another way or is
my
Windows 98 CD really disabled and unusable? What can I do?
