Everytime I turn my computer on it loads everything as
normal and I have all the icons on my desktop and then it
just hangs there trying to load some programs. The only
way I can seem to fix it is by doing Ctrl-Alt-Del and
ending the programme that is not responding. A lot of the
time (but not all of the time) it says it is Explorer that
is not responding. I'm sick of it - any ideas would be

You need to simplify the problem e.g.
1. Delete junk files (empty / Recycled and
delete Temp Internet History) and then
SCANDISK and possibly DEFRAG.
2. Reduce the quantity of software that
loads on boot. Write down the total list,
start with a clean boot, and see whether
one particular load starts the trouble.
3. You may have clutter or contradictions
in your Registry. Some people use Registry
utilities. I use and recommend Fix-It Utilities
(www.v-com.com)
