Hi, Heather,
I've never had a problem with ZA updates in the past, so I didn't hesitate
installing the latest release. In this case, I would agree that ZA is beta
testing it's product. BTW, a system restore wouldn't get me back to the
previous setup. I had to undo the restore, uninstall ZA 5, and remove all
of the ZA 5 leftovers before installing the 4.5.xxx version. The one good
outcome is that I now have a clean ZA installation. If anyone is
considering upgrading to ZA 5, I'd recommend a clean installation rather
than an upgrade installation. It's also advisable to turn off any real-time
AV monitoring.
Cheers,
Tom

Hi Tom......
Seems to be a lot of problems being reported by those with McAfee in
particular......on the antivirus ng......I am beginning to be sorry I
mentioned this new version.....grin.
And remember what I said (many times).......Zone Alarm 'beta tests' its
new
stuff on the unsuspecting public. It always has bugs in it.....so I
always
stay one or two versions back......

Noel,
It looks like he gave you the latest release number of ZA.
After less than a day of the latest ZA, I've gone back to version
4.5.xxx.
Initially there didn't appear to be any problems, but I then started
having
a number of system instabilities such as application freezes and BSODs.
Since going back to the previous version, all of the instabilities have
disappeared.
