Default video card in win98

A video card can appear to be completely inserted into the motherboard slot,
but may not be. Give it an extra nudge (but don't break the mobo!).

Yes, the video card did work in this system until recently. There are no

beeps upon start up and the windows music does not play, so it must not be
booting, although the lights for the hard drive, cd- rom, floppy, and even
the LED light on the motherboard do come on. But no display. I even tried
taking the hard drive out and putting it in a different system to check to
be sure Windows is still there (I know...I was desperate).

Did that video card 'ever' work in that system?
Do you get any 'beeps' while booting up?
Do you get the Windows 'music' (should play even if the monitor isn't
working) ?

I have a win98 system with video card trouble. The card itself is

fine, as
it will work in different system. Likewise, the monitor. HOwever, when I

put
the video card back into it's original system and attach the monitor,

the
monitor goes blank. I tried changing the card to a different PCI slot to

no
avail. I thought perhaps the user had changed a setting somewhere, but
without any video display, I cannot get any access to see what is there.

I
cannot even get into the BIOS. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
