A video card can appear to be completely inserted into the motherboard slot,
but may not be. Give it an extra nudge (but don't break the mobo!).

Yes, the video card did work in this system until recently. There are no
beeps upon start up and the windows music does not play, so it must not be
booting, although the lights for the hard drive, cd- rom, floppy, and even
the LED light on the motherboard do come on. But no display. I even tried
taking the hard drive out and putting it in a different system to check to
be sure Windows is still there (I know...I was desperate).
