Default Ethernet - LAN card installation problems

R,

Not even a yellow "?" mark in Dev Man (Unknown Device)? What happens if
you try another PCI slot?

Do you know the make/model of the motherboard? Is there perhaps a more
recent version of the bios you could install than your present version?
The bioses on my two main systems both allow me to enable/disable the
NIC(s) but in my cases these are built in and not added via a PCI slot.

Sorry I don't really know what more to suggest. Perhaps the next thing I
would try would be to see if the card is detected if inserted in to
another PC (no need for driver install, just is it seen in Dev Man?).

Best of luck,

Mike, thanks for the comment. Dvc Mgr does not see the card.
Naturally, I have physically installed n reinstalled the card at
least 4 times. And, if I connect an ethernet cable to the RJ45
outlet, both lights (green n yellow) on the back of the presummed
installed card lit up.
So, moving to the BIOS. What would you propose I do?
THX!
