Noel, Safe Mode Repair did not work with IE6SP1 in Control Panel Add/Delete;
Q# 896727 & 903235 Lines relating to IE6 show, also-
Yesterday Could NOT Delete either Q# as it gave "Error in Delete" message
and they Both Remain- (suspicious of August-date 896727 as Office "Check for
Updates" was previously working at least in July);
At 51% Lock-up on "Check for Office Updates" [Cntrl-Alt-Del] shows in the
Office update line (Internet Explorer Not Responding);
"End Task" either produces Blue screen w/ "Error:OD:0997:015F75BC" that
requires Hard Power Off/Back On, Or Desktop Recovery Screen easily remedied,
or back to Normal screen.
Thanks for the help!

First try a Repair of IE from Safe Mode Add/Remove Programs....

Reboot to Safe Mode
Go to Add/Remove Programs and try a repair of Internet Explorer from there.
Go to the entry for 'Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 SP1 and Internet Tools'
in Add/Remove Programs
Click on Remove - and click on Repair on the window that pops up
Reboot on request to Normal Mode

If the above entry isn't there, you first need to uninstall all the patches
applied, then do the repair, then reapply the patches
The patches are listed in Add/Remove under the names 'Internet Explorer
Qxxxxxx'
highlight, click Remove - reboot if requested.
Repeat until the MSIE6SP1 entry appears - then repair as above.

If that fails, then post back with the exact symptoms at that time - we'll
take it from there.

Wow, Noel. I'll have to get "liquor'd up" for this job.
Little confused if Re-Installing IE URL presumes I already Re-Installed
Me,
or can the IE Re-Install instructions stand alone as a fix without
Re-Install
of Me?
You realize, I hope, that I'll have to get real "liquor'd up" to do all
this.
I'm Deeply appreciative of your time and help!

Thanks, Noel, No I have not Re-installed Me.
Had horrible time last Me Re-install & must ask if I should Delete IE6
and
two Q# Hotfixes I see in Control Panel Add/Delete because the Dell disk
will
Re-install IE 5.X.
Too many error messages last time installing OVER IE6 and I'd
appreciate
any
notes on how to minimize "Uh-Oh messages". Thanks again!

More likely is that you have problems with Internet Explorer - have
you
attempted to reinstall ME also??

In Win Me, Office XP "Check for Updates" FREEZES at 51% and a
"Repair"
and
"Re-Install" w/ Dell-supplied Office XP Small Business Disk fail to
correct.
(Did Not Re-install Office XP Media Disk supplied, too.)
Can Windows Me have anything to do with this Freeze? If Yes, what
next?
