Default Screen fonts are thick and choppy

I upgraded to Win 98SE, but the fonts on the screen don't look right.

did you try "windows standard" desktop theme..it might reset any

adjustment
made to font settings

Two standard checks:
1 / start / settings / control panel / system / device manager
Look for yellow triangles flagging trouble spots. If you see
any, look on line for newer drivers for these components.

2 / start / run / SFC.EXE
= System File Checker.
You can set it to check c:\windows\fonts\*.*
All SFC does is compare selected Wiindows files
(your selection) with a list built when you installed.
Because you upgraded recently, go carefully.
Write down the names of any font files reported
faulty, and save copies elsewhere, in case you
prefer the old ones.
