Dialup networking was uninstalled and I still lose connection. I probably
will try to update the network card driver.

My networking knowledge is very poor, but maybe you could test the
status of the network with a loopback test, ie type the following in a
Windows DOS box:

ping 127.0.0.1

AFAIK, if that passes, then that would suggest that your NIC has not
hung. (Maybe the "route print" command has already proved this???)

You could then try pinging other addresses, eg your ISP's gateway
(203.168.212.1) or your modem's LAN IP. If you don't know your modem's
LAN IP, then I suspect you could determine this by disconnecting from
the WAN and using winipcfg to Release and Renew. ???

Once you determine the modem's LAN IP, then you may be able to access
its browser interface by typing the following into the address bar:

http://your_modem's_LAN_IP

For example, mine is http://10.1.1.1
