Were you able to connect before installing the firewall? If so you need to check what the firewall is blocking. If you have "Microsoft Generic Host Process for Win32 Services" blocked, you need to allow it access or you can not access the internet.
Seeing that your ISP is Comcast, I will take it that you use cable. If this is the case, do not run the W2kfix as it deals with dialup.

Thank on your help

Yes everything was working almost perfectly; old McAfee Virus scan, old
mcAfee Firewall. I am still fighting to fix my comp. Right now I have access
to Internet but only after uninstalling the Firewall. I had no better idea,
so I had run W2kfix - didn't make anything worse than use to be. I have
contacted McAfee support - didn't help to much other to make me clear that I
have to uninstall their software as a first step. Noe I am unable to run some
programs or some of programs are not working as they use to.
My question this time is: Is it there any way ti clean up registry or at
least to disable entries for programs that I have removed from my comp. long
ago?
Thank you all
