Why do you think the secondary channel was disabled ?

it was not recognized in device manager until I enabled
it. My employer probably had it disabled on purpose.

Seems a bit odd that you have to know that.
My computer is not recognizing the drive. So I was going
to go to the manufacturers web site and download the
driver for it but I do not know who the manufacturer is.
