Default Why???

I understand all that, and XP home works fine. I used ME for 3 months, and
had to reinstall windows about 6 times. This same machine had 98se for some
time, ran perfect, I then installed XP pro, and again, ran perfect. I run a
computer repair shop, and we had zero successful Win ME computers work, we
reverted back to 98se until it was gone, then made the jump to XP. None of
our clients had ME for over 6 months because it was so horrible, even for
single use.

I used Windows Me for six *years* (not months). The only real trouble I ever
had was brought by McAfee and Norton. I dropped them, not Windows Me, and
everything was fine.

In my experience, both Windows 98 SE and Windows Me can not be kept running
24/7; both need to be restarted about once every other day. OTOH, Windows 98
would fall over when System Resources dropped under 30%. Might as well pull
the plug then, and restart cold. Windows Me would run until System Resources
were under 20%; and, about half the time, if Resources were just 9%, you
could shut down applications until you reached a state where Windows Me
could be restarted normally.
