Here is my original e-mail with all the information on my
computer (it is a home-built computer that someone gave
me):

Subject: Windows 98 16 colors only display
From: "Sheila" Sent:

I have the same problem as Crystal. (see copy of email
below) Also, now everything is huge and wider than the
width of the monitor, so it is beyond where I can reach it
with the mouse. I have a 17" monitor.
I went to this site (http://www.s3graphics.com/) and it
says "earlier drivers are obsolete", so I don't know how
to find what I need to download.

What is the brand and model of your computer? Compaq,
Dell, HP, etc.? The Display Applet is the Display icon in
the Control Panel.

Joe,
Thank you for your information and help. I installed the
VIA chipset drivers, but I get an error message that says
the Savage 4 Driver is not compatible with my computer and
that I should not install it, I don't know what the
Display "applet" program is, Display Properties still says
(Unknown Monitor) on (Unknown Device), 16 colors is still
my only choice, the screen is still 640 x 480 pixels and I
can't change it.
