Default Using a wireless adapter

Mike thank you for your time. How do I know all my settings are correct in
the IP Cofiguration. Plus if they are correct how do I know what my other
settins should be in regards to the WEP password and the other settings?

If you can connect to the router but not onwards to the internet then the
problem is likely to be one of settings and not the operating system nor
is it a hardware problem.

From the PC running Win Me
Can you ping a site on the internet such as Google using its IP address
(64.233.187.99) or does ping return an error message of some sort?
Can you ping a site on the internet such as Google using its alias
(www.google.com) or does it respond "Unknown host www.google.com"?

To use the PING command, open a DOS window and then at the prompt enter
PING 64.233.187.99
and then
PING www.google.com

Also what does WINIPCFG tell you about your wireless connection. WINIPCFG
can also be launched from a command prompt. If you have more than one
network adapter on your PC choose the wireless NIC from the drop down box
and then click the More Info button. What does it tell you your IP
address is, your gateway and DHCP server?

Since you say you can connect to the router I don't think you need to
worry about having an incorrect WEP password or similar although this
could be a problem in that if incorrect you might be able to connect to
the router but nothing more.

I recently set my computer back to factory settings and am trying to
connect a wireless g adapter. After many hours with my internet
provider and the manufacturer of the adapter, it has been determined
that there must be some glitch with Windows ME that does not allow me
to connect. I am able to connect with the router, but fail to
connect to the internet. Does anyone know how to get around this
issue?
