Hi I guess you can work it out, but I am a real beginner as computers are
concerned so would need to take thinks one step at a time.
First, I cannot see ms paint in " install/uninstall programs"
Second, Where would I reload "paint" from. I presume it is on the windows 98
cd.
Third, if I attempt to fix paint Am I likely to end up with a Dead computer.

As KB218632 points out, "This behavior can occur if the registry entries

WordPad or Paint are damaged." The fix is to Uninstall MS Paint, delete
all
Registry keys for MS Paint, and then reinstall it.
